Benfica vs Liverpool highlights: Watch all the goals and highlights as the Reds beat Benfica 3-1 in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg on Tuesday.

Both sides looked to establish their authority in the opening stages but it was the Reds who came out on top, with Jurgen Klopp's side managing to largely quieten down a passionate home crowd in Lisbon.

Liverpool took the lead inside the opening 20 minutes through Andy Robertson's corner which was met by Ibrahima Konate, who nodded the Reds in front with his first goal of the season.

The visitors remained in the ascendency throughout the half and they consolidated their advantage in brilliant fashion through Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose raking ball forward was met by Luis Diaz, who headed the ball across the goal for Sadio Mane to make it 2-0.

Benfica were given renewed hope at the start of the second half as an error by Konate led to the ball falling at the feet of Darwin Nunez, who made no mistake from close range to halve the deficit.

Despite the Reds enduring some nervy moments, they ultimately clinched a 3-1 victory thanks to a late Diaz strike to establish their advantage of the second leg next week. All focus now turns to the Etihad this weekend...
