Liverpool will look to continue their recent upswing as they travel to Leeds today, Saturday, December 6th. The Reds are righting the ship with four points from their two matches, just outside the Top 4.
Where To Watch
Kickoff is set for 17:30 and will air on Sky Sports. In the United States, the match will kick off at 12:30 EST and air on NBC.
A Look At Leeds
Leeds have struggled during their time back in the Premier League, but a big win over Chelsea in the last match saw them move above the relegation line. Leeds is a first-half team, having scored 11 of their 16 EPL goals in the opening 45 minutes. Lukas Nmecha leads the team with four. Leeds manager Daniel Farke says his team will have to play their best to topple the reigning champs
"We need during this period the whole squad," said Farke. "Especially in a week when you have three games against opponents where you always have to go over the limit. In these types of games, we have to go over the limit to compete.”
What Does Slot Say
Arne Slot says he sees many similarities between Leeds and Liverpool.
“Yesterday I looked at Leeds v Chelsea, and I thought I saw a Liverpool game; Chelsea conceding a set-piece and for the third goal making a big, big error where they conceded a goal from. [It was] very difficult for them. Either Leeds went very aggressive to one-v-one, or they went to a low block, and it was really hard to create chances. It's not only difficult for us, that playing style, it's difficult for many teams – including us.”
Injury Update
Conor Bradley is set to return for the match, which should bolster the Reds' backline. He has missed four games. Joe Gomez picked up a knock, and his availability is in doubt. Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni have longer-term injuries.
LFC Globe Verdict
Liverpool will have to guard against an early Leeds goal because they play so well in the first half. If the Reds give up an early goal, it will be tough to make a comeback. If the Reds can keep it level early, I think they have too much talent and will take the win 3-0.
