All the best photos from Anfield as a first-half goal from Sadio Mane saw Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on Sunday.

It wasn't a trademark Liverpool performance, but one that has been seen so many times this year. The Reds did just enough to get past Wolves in their final game of 2019.

Liverpool took the lead in the 42nd minute thanks to a goal from Mane, whose close-range strike was initially ruled out for a handball by Adam Lallana, who nudged Virgil van Dijk's long ball towards the forward.

VAR intervened and correctly overturned referee Anthony Taylor's decision as the Reds went 1-0 up three minutes before half-time.

However, their lead didn't last long - or so they thought - as Pedro Neto slotted home past Alisson in front of a stunned Anfield crowd.

Once again, VAR interceded for Liverpool as the equaliser was chalked off for a millimetre-close offside decision against Jonny in the build-up.

There were more than a few nervy moments in the second half, but Liverpool kept a potential Wolves comeback at bay as they kept a clean sheet and earned all three points.

The result takes Liverpool to 55 points from 19 games so far this season, with Klopp's side holding a 13-point lead over second-placed Leicester City, with a game in hand.
